Cerro Negro Volcano Boarding Tour
Experience one of the most unique adventures in the world during your visit to Nicaragua: sliding down the slopes of an active volcano and feeling the thrill of adrenaline in one of the most spectacular landscapes in Central America.

Tour departure
Our tour begins in the city of León, where our guide and driver will pick you up directly from your hotel at the scheduled time.
The Cerro Negro Volcano is one of the youngest volcanoes in Central America. Located just 23 km from León, it was formed in 1850 and rises to 728 meters above sea level. Its last eruption occurred in 1999.
During the drive to the volcano, you will enjoy views of the rural countryside surrounding León, small local communities, and traditional crops such as cassava and tropical fruits. If you wish, you can ask your guide to stop briefly along the way to take photos.
Upon arrival at the natural reserve, we will register visitors and you will have access to restrooms before starting the hike.
The volcano adventure
Our adventure begins with a walk to the base of the volcano, where we will make a short stop for photos before the ascent.
The hike to the summit takes approximately one hour. Your guide will accompany you during the climb and provide clear instructions on how to safely use the volcano boarding equipment.
From the summit, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the volcanic landscape surrounding León.
Then comes the highlight of the tour: volcano boarding down the slopes of black volcanic ash, an exciting activity that combines adventure, adrenaline and fun.
Return to León
After the activity, your guide and driver will take you comfortably back to your hotel in León.
