Telica Volcano Sunset Tour

Experience one of the most spectacular adventures near León: watching the sunset from the summit of an active volcano.

The Telica Volcano is one of the most active and fascinating volcanoes in Nicaragua. Its massive crater and the panoramic views of the surrounding volcanic landscape make this tour an unforgettable experience.

From the summit you will be able to observe the impressive active crater while the sun slowly sets over the horizon, creating a magical moment surrounded by nature.

Tour departure

We recommend departing at 1:30 PM from the city of León. Your guide and driver will pick you up directly from your hotel.

The drive from León to the base of the volcano takes approximately 2 hours in our 4x4 vehicle, crossing rural landscapes and volcanic terrain typical of the region.

Hiking to the summit

Once we arrive at the trailhead, we will begin a hike of approximately 45 minutes to reach the summit of the volcano.

During the hike, your guide will accompany you and explain the volcanic activity, geology and natural history of the region.

Once at the top, we will walk about 10 minutes across volcanic rocks to reach the edge of the crater where we can observe the impressive volcanic activity.

Sunset at the crater

From this privileged viewpoint we will wait for the sunset while enjoying breathtaking views of the volcanic landscape surrounding León.
